As PBDB requires a box full of resources, including enough practice pads and drumsticks for a primary 4 class, to be delivered to a participating school, I have documented a number of development steps.
Funding
Once I had decided the project would see the distribution of practice pads and drumsticks, I understood that funding the project needed close consideration. I drafted a base email, later personalised to send to various manufacturers of pads and sticks, requesting donation of materials or a multi-buy discount. This may not come to fruition, in which case I will need to fund the project myself.
I have conducted research into self manufacturing a basic practice pad of my own and have since purchased the necessary materials to create it.
Creating
As this project will be delivered to a primary 4 class, I believe it important to make every aspect of the project interesting and engaging for the kids, even the box housing the resources. At this stage, I have decided that the box will be made to resemble a snare drum and will feature a child appropriate logo. The box opening will serve as an event in each lesson.

I have taken steps towards creating a design for the box, referencing images of old fashioned 'rope' marching drums (pictured). I intend to have completed the
development of the box design and produce the final product by the 12th of January 2021.
Distributing
Firstly, I was faced with the decision of which school to offer my project to. I believed the participating school have little or no music provision, be in an area of multiple deprivation and be close enough for me to deliver he box by hand. After researching the Scottish Index for Multiple Deprivation and schools I had identified, I contacted Ibrox Primary School. As of yet, I have not had a response.
